WOOOHOOO!!! 4 weeks have past and im very happy with my results thus far...
starting numbers... weight - 136 lbs abdomen skinfold - 25 mm thigh skinfold - 15 mm chest skinfold - 20 mm
1 month numbers... weight - 126 lbs abdomen skinfold - 20 mm thigh skinfold - 10 mm chest skinfold - 10 mm
i am so friggin stoked about how much change i have had in the past month! i am still waiting patiently for the abdomen fat to recede a bit faster but im seeing results everywhere and i know its just a matter of keeping it up and waiting for my body to finally start getting rid of my belly. i can pinch a lot less now on my stomach and the sides as well. i wish i did circumferance measurements as well to see how its changing but im tryign something new.
in terms of what i couldve done better, as always my diet can always be cleaned up abit. in general my food choices and portion sizes are good but there are always instances wehre i couldve cleaned up a tad more.
training wise i was on this month. i missed 4 days total and those were my rest days, so im very pleased with myself. id also like to give props for bas, mara, jen and mary for keeping me motivated to go to the gym and keep working at it. bas especially is a friggin workhorse, and if i dont go workout, he will pass me lol hahah, so i cant let him beat me lol.
for the next 4 weeks, i will be following the same routine since it is a dynamic weekly routine. i will also try to keep my post workout cardio consistent (oh that's something i needed to work on!), making sure i hit at least 20 minutes after my weights, and doing cardio on 2 days seperate from my weight days.
diet wise i will keep similar for the next week, then possibly start with carb cycling, using 5 low carb days, and 2 high carb days. we'll see.
anyways, i just wanna say that all in all, im really proud of everyone for everything they have done this first month of hte comp, and i know we can keep pushing to eventually attain our goals! good luck guys and i hope to hear from you guys about how the first month has come along!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO! Who would've thought that, by hanging out with Bas, Rob and Con would lead me to working out fully with you everyone? March 19th, exactly was the day I said I'll work out if Bas works out! And so here we are.
It's been exactly a month and my results are great.
Starting weight a month ago: 128 lbs. As of this morning: 125 lbs.
I am super happy. The changes are freaking incredible. The only down side is, my clothes needs to be replaced. Well pants that is. Work pants and some jeans are loose on me now. (I seriously need some meat for my butt, cause when I wear some pants/jeans, my butt part sags. Boo! I know for sure I'll be losing more weight as we continue our work out routines. But oh well, I know I'm healthy and as long as staying active and just being able to keep up with working out at least 5-6 times a week is good enough for me.
I basically missed 4 days in total as well since I started a month ago, and that is because it's my rest days. So I am super happy with myself.
Thank you to everyone for motivating me and making this experience fun fun fun.
Bas and I are really focused on this training that WE haven't had a cheat meal since we started this, which is a month ago. And I haven't had fast food since I gave it up for LENT. And I haven't even been craving for any of that stuff. WOOP WOOP!
Would you believe, I gave up POTATO SALAD YESTERDAYYY???? AHHH! BBQ time at Bas' is a plus, but yesterday, I had to say no. :(
My first ever cheat meal would be on Bas' birthday, 3 weeks from now!(Which I am still watching out what I eat and my portions.) Hellooooooooo ice cream. Bubble Tea or something sweet. Yummmm!
I really don't know my starting weight. It was hovering around 120lbs. I don't have a scale in my house. But I think i'm under 120 or I might be the same because I know I've put on some muscle.
I am just LOVING my results. I admit it was hard at first getting into the swing of things with working out after my long winter off. But the endurance came back quickly and now i'm addicted to working out and eating well.
My work pants are loose - they are swimming on me. And my jeans are loose too! Around the butt thingh waist area. I'm starting to see major AB definition in my stomach. Its starting to look nice and flat + all the TurboJam workouts are really starting to define the Abs. Can see the outer abs no problem and sometimes the line down the middle. ITS SO EXCITING!!
I love that I'm doing more weights. My arms/shoulders are starting to feel nice and strong. My legs are starting to become stronger thanks to all the squats + the weather is getting nicer which means that I'll be able to start running outside again like last year.
I love varying my workouts - TurboJam and weights, cardio classes, tredmill/elliptical, circut training, and soon running outside. I love challenging my body and I love the fact that we're all doing it together.
The goal was to workout 4-5 times a week and I've done 6 days for the past 4 weeks. I know I've been working out before this started (started going to the gym consistently since Feb) and since then, I've only had 2 big cheat meals (Easter and the Wedding) - so I'm super proud of myself.
i've lost my stomach and my diet has gotten back on track i havet weighed myself or taken any measurements but i figure i should do that now that i'm ready to get more into my working out but i'm doing good woo
Woohoo I suck at posting. I know I know I suck that is definitly something I need to fix and thats my posts. Other than that I think i'm doing pretty well. I get into the gym on a regular basis maybe not as much as you keeners :P but I'm there. I see results in myself gettin smaller and smaller as the days go by. Tried on a 40 last week and it fit fine other than the quad area where it was quite fitted to say the least. Before all this i was a 44 if you wanted to know where im coming from and its called FAT TOWN population me hahaha. but ya im pretty sure i can fit into a 38 in the next month or so. I haven't weighed myself so i'm not to sure where that is at. But i feel good not feeling lazy and sluggish. looking forward to the months to come. keep the good work you guys i can definitly see changes in everyone and its awesome.
(in inches) / (in inches) arm 14 / arm 13.5 shoulders 43 / shoulders 38.5 bust 41 / bust 38 waist 34 / waist 32.5 abdomen 37.5 / abdomen 36.5 hips 37.5 / hips 37 thigh 25 / thigh 24
weight 177lbs / weight 167lbs
Notes:
I'm never too sure about my shoulder and arm measurements just because i get my parents to do them. But they are (esp my shoulders) starting to feel more lean and i see some shape when i flex my arms. My midsection is getting there. my waist & abdomen are catching up w/ my hips. No more apple-y-ness! My cardiovascular health has improved. I don't huff and puff like i used to. breathing while running comes naturally. No more thinking to avoid feeling any lactic burn. Definitely happy with my results. I've been at a plateau for such a long time i NEVER imagined being where i am now. The 160s? Size 9? Who would've thunk? It seemed like such an impossible feat. But not anymore my friends...not anymore.
So what next? I say, bring it on 150s...bring it on sizes 6/7...Bring. It. Onnnn...You're MINE.
GOAL: 160 lbs…possibly 155 lbs now that im seeing progress
Tracking Dashboard:
Running 3-4 times a week : On track Working out 3 times a week: On track Eating: On track

Very amazed at what eating healthy has done for me. Cutting out white rice and high fat meals in general has worked wonders. I think I even start to see a little bit of an ab-line coming there. Who knows I still have 2 months and 1 week to get to 155 and maybe by then I’ll have a 6 pack (ok I’m dreaming now lol)
For improvement, my diet could use cheat meals to speed this whole process up. In addition the lack of protein in each of my meals is probably hindering things.
Next Steps - continue what I do (diet and workout) - try to incorporate more protein in my meals - switch it up a bit on the intensity of the weight training - HAVE FUN! lol
CONGRATUATLIONS EVERYONE ON THE RESULTS SO FAR!!!!!!!!!! It's almost done..WE CAN DO IT!
i must say that im so proud of everyone! the numbers after one month is proof that if we keep at it and keep motivating eachother, we can achieve our goals!
awesome job everyone, and you all look sexy! lol hahah.
any btw, i weighed myself this morning and i am now sub 220lbs weighing in at 219 lbs. 2 months to hit 215 and if i get that sooner, woohoo mass cycle!!! lol
I guess this is a "there and back again" type blog. I once was fat, then I was skinn(ier), and now once again I am fat.
I've made the decision (once again) that I need to make some changes, but this time, make them for good. I am married now. I have a house, a wife who loves me, a great family, an amazing support network of friends, and a dream of starting my own family. I have reasons... more then ever before, to take my life back...
